This week is National School Counseling Week, February 7 - 11, 2022. The purpose of this week is to focus attention on the unique contribution of school counselors and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do.
MHHS school counselors actively:
Help students examine their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents.
Partner with parents/guardians as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today's world
Focus on positive ways to enhance students' academic, postsecondary, and social/emotional development
Work with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential and set healthy, realistic, and optimistic aspirations for themselves.
School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master's degree in counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program.
This week, MHHS will highlight and honor one of our school counselors each day. Please join us in celebrating the immeasurable impact our school counselors have on our students' achievement and development.
