Senior Celebration

Seniors!

Mountain House High School is proud of its graduating class of 2020. While we continue to plan a full graduation ceremony for a later date, we want to have a chance to commemorate our original graduation date with a Senior Celebration! Come join us Friday, 5/22, from 6:00 P.M. to 6:45 P.M. for our celebration.

The event will be a drive through celebration where students and families will be asked to drive through the back parking area at MHHS near the stadium. We will require everyone to stay in their cars to ensure we practice social distancing. We ask that all Seniors dress in their cap and gown, decorate their cars and bring their families as we celebrate our Seniors in a school drive through parade.

Please enter the MHHS parking lot from Mustang way near the stadium, see the attached map. The drive through parade will begin at 6:00 pm and will end at 6:45pm.

MHHS staff will be lined up to cheer on our Seniors! We hope to see you all on Friday night.

Thank you!
MHHS Administration

Yearbooks Delayed

Due to the global pandemic, this year's edition of the Yearbook has been delayed.  Our yearbook company is printing and shipping them, but they are taking a longer time than anticipated.  As soon as we know a distribution date, we will communicate with you.  We also have a limited number of extra yearbooks for sale which will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis when we distribute them.

Letter Grade Request

As we come to the close of this year, we want to commend all of you for your hard work and perseverance in the face of overwhelming change.  This school year has definitely been a year for the history books.  As you know, semester grades will be calculated differently this year due to the circumstance in which we find ourselves and the fast-pace in which we had to transition to distance learning.  Please read this communication carefully as it contains information about choices you have in regards to your semester grades.

At this time, inquiries about your grade should not be sent to teachers.  Any student who sends an email in regards to their grade at this time will be directed to administration to discuss and resolve their concerns.  If you have questions about your grades during this time, we encourage you to fill out this form:  https://tinyurl.com/grade-question

There are two main options for you to choose from.

OPTION #1
All of your grades are automatically defaulted to Credit (CR), D, or No Credit (NC).  These grades will be calculated using a combination of your 3rd quarter grade and the final grade reflected in the Canvas Gradebook for each of your classes.  You DO NOT need to submit requests for ANY class for which you would like “CR” or “NC” grades.  Please refer to the table below to determine what your grade will be if you decide to take the automatic default grade:

  • Please remember that CR and NC grades will not be used to calculate GPA for the Spring 2020 semester, and will also not be used to recalculate your overall total GPA now, or in the future.  These grades will neither negatively or positively impact your GPA.
  • Grades of CR will award students the credit they need towards graduation and college readiness.
  • Grades of NC will not award credit and students may have to retake these courses in order to graduate, or prepare to apply for college.
  • D grades do impact GPA, but they also award needed credit towards graduation.  Most colleges and universities do not accept D grades for purposes of college entrance.  Students can retake a course with a D grade as a replacement for the D.  Courses may be retaken through summer school, online credit recovery lab, or face-to-face during the regular school year.

OPTION #2
You may choose to request a letter grade for all or some of your classes this semester.  This means that if you request a letter grade, your 3rd quarter grade and the final grade reflected in Canvas Gradebook will be combined to give you the final semester grade on your transcript.  Please note that once a student has requested a letter grade, they may not opt out. Please refer to the table below to determine what your grade will be if you decide to request a letter grade:

  • All letter grades will calculate the same as they would in any other regular semester.
  • You can request letter grades for some courses and not for others.

You MUST specifically request letter grades for each of the courses for which you would like to receive a letter grade.  You DO NOT need to submit requests for ANY class for which you would like “CR” or “NC” grades.  Students can request letter grades for their courses by filling out and submitting this form:
The deadline for letter grade requests is Monday 5/18/20 at 11:59 P.M.
Students must be logged in to their lammersvilleusd.net account to fill out this form and will only be allowed to submit it one (1) time.

We sincerely hope that our Mustang Ohana stays happy and healthy over the coming summer break.  If you have any specific questions about this process,
or would like to provide feedback, feel free to reach out to our administrators and counselors at this time.  Remember, if you have specific questions about a particular grade, please submit your questions here:  https://tinyurl.com/grade-question

Sincerely,
MHHS Administration

Seniors 2020 Journey

Seniors, you are almost at the end of your journey here at MHHS.  You have learned so much, grown into young adults, and have made some memories you will never forget.  We can celebrate the good times, even amongst some of the bad times.  As Mustangs we will always overcome our adversities.  You are ready to face the world as you embark onto wherever life may take you.  As you do so, "Always Remember Who You Are, W

hat You Represent, and To Show Your Mustang Pride".

What's My Grade? - Season Finale

“Mr. Fobert, I have a question about how my grade is being calculated.  Who should I ask if I have questions?”

Great question.  If you remember from previous communication, the grade in Canvas as of 5:00 P.M. on Friday 5/15/20 is the FINAL calculated grade.  Using that final grade, you can determine what your permanent semester grade is by using the grade tables that were sent out via email on 5/11/20.  If you have ANY questions about your grade from now until 5:00 P.M. tomorrow (5/15/20), please contact your teacher.  Teachers will not be responding to questions about grade calculations after that time.  If you have additional questions at that time, there will be a form for you to fill out to communicate with counselors and administration about your questions.

At this point, the majority of the work for the semester should be wrapped up, and you should be sending your last communications to teachers if you have any questions.  Please look for an email that will be sent out tomorrow evening at 5:00 P.M. with instructions about how you can request letter grades for specific courses.

We thank you so much for all of the hard work you have done during this period of distance learning!
