Lammersville Unified School District Wins Prestigious Award from California School Boards Association (CSBA)

Congratulations to our Board, Sites, Teachers, Staff, Administrators, Community Members, and Students who participated in the development of our strategic plan that led to this important acknowledgement of the work being done by all in our great district.
The CSBA Golden Bell Awards, now in its 36th year, promotes excellence in education and School Board Governance by recognizing outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in school districts and county offices of education throughout California. Golden Bell Awards reflect the depth and breadth of education programs and governance decisions supporting these programs that are necessary to address students’ changing needs. This awards program highlights best practices in education in all areas of operations, instruction and support services by:
  • Seeking out and recognizing key governance practicesthat support, sustain and inspire the creation and continuance of exemplary education programs
  • Seeking out and recognizing sustainable, innovative or exemplary programs which have been developed and successfully implemented by California teachers and administrators
  • Recognizing and supporting educators who invest extra energy and time to make a demonstrated difference for students
  • Promoting models with positive student outcomes
  • Focusing on the commitment to ensure that the needs of all students are met
Identifying exemplary programs serves as a way to share information about effective educational strategies. The Golden Bell Awards program also serves to boost confidence in public education by focusing attention on success in our schools. Finally, it enables the California School Boards Association, on behalf of School Governing Boards throughout the State, to express appreciation to dedicated educators who strive to provide a high-quality education that challenges all students to succeed.
Lammersville USD’s award came after a thorough vetting process which included analysis of applications by a panel of education experts and a district verification visit by a representative of the California School Boards Association. The award is in the category of Strategic Planning in the Common Core Era.

In addition to receiving the CSBA Golden Bell Award, Lammersville USD will also receive a $1,000 sponsorship award for the exemplary Common Core program, sponsored by the Associate Business Affiliates.
We couldn’t have achieved this recognition without the wonderful support of all the members of the Lammersville Unified family and community.

MHHS Health Science Night

Did you know that MHHS has a Biomedical Science Program.  We do!  Ms. Olson leads the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences Program, and has partnered the program with the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club to help students get some experience in the health sciences field.  Many of the students in these classes are interested in entering the medical and biomedical science fields upon graduation from high school.  On January 21st  from 4:30pm to 8:00pm, our Biomedical Science and HOSA students will be hosting a Health Science night where students will be showcasing their work.  This is a great opportunity for all of our students here at MHHS, and for students in the 7th and 8th grade who will be coming to MHHS to learn more about the program.  Plan on coming down!
