We are in the middle of our course selection for next year and today we continue with highlighting some more of our departments and CTE pathways. Our virtual parent night is one week away on 2/9/22 @ 6:30.
English Language Arts
The goal of ELA classes is to engage students in critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills and challenge them to answer questions by referring back to what they have read. MHHS graduation requirements require that students take a full 4 years of English. Students looking for a greater challenge can take honors courses in 9th and 10th grades, AP Language and Composition in 11th grade, and AP English Literature and Composition in 12th grade.

CTE Business
Business is the third most popular of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways that we offer with 291 students this year. Students are immersed in hands-on learning experiences that model current industry practices as they learn about organization and communication in the business environment. All CTE pathways culminate in a capstone course in which students demonstrate their learning in projects that they design. Students in the Business pathway are gaining valuable experience for careers in entrepreneurship, financial management, marketing, and many more.

Special Education
The Special Education Department is composed of learning specialists who assist students with IEPs in meeting their individual goals. Support is offered through co-taught classes in which learning specialists work directly with content teachers, parallel courses with highly scaffolded content that mirrors core content classes, and through learning labs which focus on study and organizational skills.
