This is one of the most challenging invitationals in the Science Olympiad world. Teams from all over the US come to Golden Gate SO to see how they will stack up against their Nationals competitors. Any medals at GGSO means that we are competing on the same level as the best teams in the Nation.
Please congratulate the following students for medaling in their events:
- 2nd Place Write It Do It - Crystal Chum and Sharon Varghese (Blue)
- 5th Place Machines - Pranav Kharche and Gian Mendoza (Blue)
The following events did not medal in their events, but placed in the top 10 of out the 55 teams that competed this year:
- 8th Place Fossils - Erin Su and Sahitysree Subramanian (Blue)
- 9th Place Write It Do It - Tia Abraham and Elizabeth Varghese (Silver)
Overall, Blue Team placed 17th and Silver Team placed 37th. These placements are even more impressive when you consider that each team had several normal members absent and White Team students filled in on events they didn't know and that both teams ran with only 13 students instead of the normal 15!
