Ohlone College Quiz Bowl
The Mountain House High School Biomedical Innovation (BI) class has an articulation agreement with Ohlone College. Students may take the Ohlone College Biotechnology 105 test and receive 4 transferrable credits if they achieve an 80% or higher and a B or higher in the BI class. In conjunction with the agreement Ohlone College sponsors a pizza and quiz bowl competition for high school students who are studying the biotechnology content. On February 21st two teams of students from MHHS competed against teams from Mission Valley ROP and Castro Valley HS. It was a fun night with a few pop culture questions thrown in. Mountain House team Tanaya Kollipara, Ormina Naveed and Sriya Sriya Chilukuri finished in second place after three rounds and team Nabil Mohammed, Hussain Chharawalla, Manal Rasheed and Taylor Chin finished in third place after two rounds. Students in the second place team received $30 Amazon gift cards. Students in the third place team received $20 gift cards. We look forward to a rematch next year.
