“HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience. HOSA actively promotes career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. “ (HOSA.org)
Students who are enrolled (or will be enrolled next year ) in the Biomedical Professional Pathway at Mountain House High School are eligible to join HOSA. HOSA provides an avenue for students to develop health science knowledge, build leadership skills, improve communication skills and much more. HOSA is a community within MHHS but also across the state and nation. A common comment by HOSA students is about how welcoming and friendly students from other HOSA chapters are.
Our HOSA chapter grows each year and the costs associated with HOSA are also growing. This year 79 students qualified for the State Leadership Conference competitions. 30 students placed as finalists in an array of events and many earned Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. We want to provide opportunities for as many students as possible to compete in HOSA competitions and provide additional opportunities for HOSA students to explore biomedical professions and education. To this end we need parent support to fundraise and to chaperone events. All parents of current HOSA students (Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors) or future HOSA students please attend the :
