Speech and Debate News

This past week, Saksham Madaan earned the National Speech & Debate Association's Academic All American award.  This prestigious award recognizes academic rigor, competitive speech and debate success and personal excellence.  Eligible students must achieve a GPA of 3.7 or higher, earned the degree of Superior Distinction in the National Forensic League Honor Society, and demonstrate outstanding character and leadership.  Each year, fewer than 1% of the National Speech & Debate Association student members earn this award.  Please help me in congratulating Saksham.

Saksham Madaan & Udit Karthikeyan have qualified for the National Parliamentary Debate League Tournament of Champions.  This is an amazing accomplishment.  Their hard work and debate success have earned them the # 2 spot within our region, allowing them to participate in the Tournament of Champions on April 16th-18th.

With the recent competitions and success, the following students have earned special recognition from the National Speech and Debate Association, the National Forensic League Honor Society:

Sambhav Agarwal, for reaching 75 merit points:  Honor

Anisha Yeddanapudi, for reaching 1500 merit points and the highest possible distinction:  Premier Distinction
