HOSA State Leadership Conference

The Mountain House HOSA  students rocked at the State Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California.  HOSA is a student organization for future health professionals.  Seventeen students traveled to the conference on April 6th and competed in the following events
  • Career Health Display
  • BioMedical Lab Science
  • CPR/First Aid
  • Medical Photography
  • Dental Terminology
  • Medical Terminology
  • Sports Medicine
  • Extemporaneous Health Poster
  • Job Seeking Skills
  • Researched Persuasive Speaking

Sixteen students advanced to the final round in at least one event.  Four students ranked as top ten finalists in the state.

Abigail Buena - Top Ten Finalist in Extemporaneous Health Poster
Abby Mae Dalman - 4th Place in Extemporaneous Health Poster
Surabhi Hareendranath - 5th Place in Medical Photography
Lauren Morales - 5th Place in Dental Terminology

When students were not competing they networked with other schools or attended workshops such as suturing, emergency medicine, motivational speakers, team building, cyber-bullying, etc.  Saturday night they went to a talent show featuring HOSA students.  The star of the show was from Manteca and performed an Indian cultural dance.  Several students from our chapter were inspired and want to enter next year.

It was a very successful trip.  We are proud of our Mustang HOSA club  and are looking forward to next year's event in Sacramento.
