In February 15 MHHS students participated in our first ever "Beyond the Classroom" reading contest. This first contest was in honor of Black History Month and students read the book "To Kill a Mockingbird." While reading the book the students were asked to become forensic library scientists, paying attention to small details of the written plot, and answering questions as they read the book. Of the 15 students who participated, 5 students were finalists and won prizes like a Starbucks gift card, and Subway Sandwich certificates. All 15 participants were treated to a Pizza party to promote the reading contest.
Thanks to our Learning Commons Learning Director Mrs. H for coordinating this event and Congratulations to our finalists and winners!
