MHHS Gains FULL Accreditation

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Mountain House High School has been granted full accreditation through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Since its opening, Mountain House High School has participated in the process to become fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.  During our first year we obtained "candidacy" accreditation that is given to new schools upon opening.  Over the past 4 years, our faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to prepare ourselves for a full visit from a WASC Accreditation committee.  After writing our self-study, and presenting an action plan, a group of 6 educators visited our campus for 3 days to review our plans, and assess the school's readiness for accreditation.  Mountain House High School was accepted for full accreditation with flying colors!

Congratulations to our students, teachers, administration, classified staff, parents and community for their participation in the process.

Every Fifteen Minutes

May 3, 2018 at approximately 10:45 A.M., Juniors and Seniors at Mountain House High School will be staging a simulated car crash on our campus as a part of our "Every Fifteen Minutes" (EFM) program in cooperation with the California Highway Patrol.

Student participants involved in this program will be playing the roles of drivers and injured passengers.  Emergency vehicles will respond to the scene of this simulated crash.  You may hear and/or see various types of real emergency vehicles responding during this program.  Please know that this is a carefully planned part of the EFM program and is NOT a real emergency.  A planning team from the school has been working with the California Highway Patrol, the Mountain House Fire Department, and various other local agencies to coordinate the event.

On May 4, 2018, an assembly that includes a mock "funeral" will be held as an assembly to debrief the crash event from Thursday.

EFM is a two day program that challenges high school juniors and seniors to think about drinking, driving, personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved.  The students participating in the program will be creating an immersive and emotional learning experience that challenges the feelings of invincibility that many teens have.  The goal is to make a lasting impact that will make their peers stop and think before they make decisions that have the potential to harm others.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Vice Principal, Athena Duran at aduran@lammersvilleusd.net, or by calling our office at 209.836.7460.
